Can anyone help me???
My keyboard do not work most of the time when I boot-up my computer, I have to reset it several times or totally turn it off before it is detected. I tested my keyboard in a different computer and it works normally plus I'm also experiencing this with my other computer using the same set-up (motherboard... everything the samewith the other computer!). I tried flashing the bios to the latest version with no luck. I think its the motherboard... I E-mailed my complain to ECS with no response yet...

My PC's spec :

ECS L7VTA (with LAN RAID Firewire built-in)
Athlon xp 1700
256mb PC2700 (samsung chip)
GF2 MX400 64mb
20gig Seagate Barracuda
Win XP with SP1

are you connecting it to the motherboard via usb?

 Hmmm, maybe your keyboard is incompatible with the motherboard.

How in the world was you able to flash your bios without your keyboard !!! ???

I have flashed bioses on 3 different types of motherboards and you needed your keyboard on each of them to verify that you wanted to complete the flash.

Could the mobo have a loose ps/2 connector? I know its kinda unlikely but doesn't hurt to check. :)

i thought about the same thing, but then, i read what he said over again, and he said that after restarting a few times, the keyboard was detected... so i guess the keyboard works sometimes...

Does your mobo detect the keyboard when you reach your desktop or is it still not available to you ?

Yes I have tried other keyboards ( only PS/2 type not USB yet...) and the problem is still the same. I have an older PC an IWILL KK266 (kt133a) with athlon 1ghz 256mb with the same OS (win XP sp1) so I ruled out the OS as the culprit of the problem, but then again I'm not that really sure so I want to hear your opinions. The problem is erratic sometimes the keyboard is detected sometime is it's not detected and it is very annoying to reboot the PC everytime I want to use it.:(

Defective MB! Replacement is your best option, but it might be possible to resolder the connector.
