yep, you know how glow wire inverters make the psycho high pitched whine?
anyone know how i can fix it without making it catch on fire? :) I tried covering it with foam and sticking it in a lil box but it gets pretty hot and i dont like that... I'd rather not have my computer go up in flames :)
anyone got any tips for me?

Hrm...
Is there anyway you could run the thing at like 7v or 5v instead of 12v? I know this would make the glow wire not as bright, but it would help with the whine, if you could even do it.

Hmmm...well, you could, like you said, put some foam on it. Leave holes for airflow, but that thing is still gonna get hot. Try the 7v thing, that might work. Might not be bright enough though.

i might make a lil box for it and cool it with a 60mm fan :) lol...i just ripped this fan out of an old AT ps weeeeeeeee the possiblities...

Actually, putting a fan in a box is what I was thinking. I thought that might add to the noise level though.

well, the inverter only makes noise once it gets hot...if i can get it cool enough so it wont whine, i dont care about more noise from a fan...i hate high pitched noise :(

Maybe you could throw just a tiny 40mm fan on it?
